Introducing the Reigning Champ of ALGS: The Undisputed 30-30 Repeater

Introducing the Reigning Champ of Apex legends Global Series (ALGS): The Undisputed 30-30 Repeater

Pro players can’t get enough of this marksman rifle, and for good reason. Despite not being a statistical powerhouse, the 30-30 Repeater has dominated the Apex Legends Global Series, with triple the amount of playtime compared to any other weapon.

According to Apex Legends Status, the 30-30 Repeater is outshining all other Pro Leagues worldwide, racking up over 38 hours as the weapon of choice. It surpasses popular favorites like the Nemesis and R-99 from last year’s meta. How is this possible? Well, the 30-30 offers more utility value than meets the eye.

While it may not have the highest damage output or time-to-kill in its category, the G7 Scout, its closest competitor, falls short in terms of cumulative playtime. The pros should be flocking to the G7 Scout for its immediate impact, but it failed to crack the top five in the first round robin across all regions.

Some players may personally prefer the G7 Scout, but the 30-30 packs a bigger punch than its initial stats suggest. It hasn’t received any major buffs leading into the 2024 Pro League season, and even received a nerf to its hipfire spread. Yet, it has found a special niche thanks to the Skullpiercer hop-up.

Previously, the Wingman was known for its Skullpiercer, granting it unparalleled headshot damage. But with the Wingman moving to the care package rotation, the 30-30 stepped up to take its place. With a similar fire rate, mid-range scopes, and the Skullpiercer’s ability to deal up to 79 damage at full charge, the 30-30 now reigns supreme.

Teams can set up devastating ambushes with multiple 30-30s, easily taking down unsuspecting enemies with coordinated shots. This burst potential offers a unique advantage over the G7 Scout. With the current meta favoring recovery from non-lethal poke damage, the 30-30 is the weapon of choice for pro players who have caught on to its power.

What sets the 30-30 even further apart is its heavy ammo classification. It doesn’t compete with the most popular meta weapons like the Flatline, Hemlok, or CAR SMG, which means players don’t have to juggle multiple ammo types. Pros can maximize their inventory space by carrying five full magazines of 30-30 ammo, leaving room for grenades or extra supplies for their secondary weapon, typically an R-99 or CAR.
