The VALORANT Champions 2024 has proven to be an electrifying spectacle, captivating audiences worldwide from August 1st to August 25th. Hosted at the COEX Artium and INSPIRE Arena in Seoul, South Korea, this thrilling tournament featured 16 elite teams battling for supremacy and a grand prize pool of $2.25 million (~£1.7 million).

Reaching a peak viewership of 1.4 million, Champions 2024 has become the fourth-most popular tournament in VALORANT history. Across all Champions events, it trails only the 2022 edition, which recorded a staggering 1.5 million peak viewers.

However, the crown for the most-watched event in VALORANT’s 2024 competitive calendar belongs to VCT 2024: Masters Madrid. With a record-breaking peak viewership of nearly 1.7 million, the event was bolstered by the massive following of its champion, North American powerhouse Sentinels. At Champions 2024, Sentinels secured their spot as the third-most-watched team, accumulating 10.8 million hours watched.

Standout performances came from this year’s Champions, EDward Gaming, with 13.4 million hours watched, and the runner-up, Team Heretics, leading with an impressive 17.4 million. Their epic Grand Final clash emerged as the most popular match of the tournament.

As expected for an international sensation, the English broadcast captivated the most fans, peaking at 662,782 viewers. Spanish and Japanese broadcasts also drew significant numbers, with peaks of 185,838 and 168,506 viewers, respectively. Twitch commanded the largest slice of the audience, peaking at 859,511 viewers, while YouTube attracted a commendable 497,209 viewers.

Audience engagement soared during the event, with live chats buzzing on Twitch and YouTube. Valorant-related discussions exploded on social media, particularly Twitter, as fans shared highlights and interacted with players and teams. Beyond the official broadcasts, vibrant fan communities on Discord hosted watch parties, exchanged updates, and dissected every moment of the competition.
