RodjER Reveals Why L1ga Team Disbanded Just Weeks After Formation

Former L1ga Team’s support player, RodjER, provides insight into the reasons behind the team’s disbandment.
After a disappointing run at the DreamLeague Season 22 closed qualifier, L1ga Team decided to start fresh and rebuild their roster.

In a recent Twitch stream, RodjER, formerly of L1ga Team, explained the circumstances surrounding the team’s disbandment. L1ga Team disbanded their Dota 2 roster in January, less than a month after its creation. Despite participating in multiple qualifiers, the team failed to achieve any success. The roster consisted of notable CIS players, including RAMZES666 and kiyotaka.

“We Just Didn’t Click,” Reveals RodjER

The former roster of the team comprised of:

  • Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev
  • Gleb “kiyotaka” Zyryanov
  • Ilyas “kasane” Gainullin
  • Aleksandr “Immersion” Khmelevskoi
  • Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosian

On February 1st, RodjER candidly revealed the cause behind the disbandment of the newly formed team. “It’s not a secret. We just didn’t click. Well, we played poorly. In short, I didn’t believe this lineup could develop as a team, so I decided to leave,” shared RodjER during one of his recent Twitch streams.

The final straw for the team was their underperformance at the DreamLeague Season 22 EEU closed qualifier. On January 23rd, kiyotaka left L1ga Team after a series of unfortunate events and returned to 9Pandas. Although no other departures have been officially announced, RodjER disclosed that most of the players had left the team.

Currently, only Ramzes remains on the active roster, and L1ga Team has expressed its intention to rebuild from scratch. The team’s new captain will be Ramzes, with former 9Pandas coach, Nofear, joining as the new coach for the upcoming roster.

The initial lineup of the team showed great potential, boasting some of the most talented players in the CIS region. However, as RodjER suggested, the lack of synergy resulted in poor performance. Despite a second-place finish at the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai EEU qualifier, the team failed to win a single series in the DreamLeague Season 22 closed qualifier.

As previously stated by L1ga Team, “There is no doubt that L1GA TEAM will be able to win a worthy place in the hall of fame of esport and win many significant victories in the new gaming season.” The team is now determined to rebuild their roster and fulfill their dream of achieving esports greatness.
