According to game director Aaron Keller, this new season will feature multiple tests of the six-vs-six format to gauge player reactions and refine the experience, ensuring it aligns with the community’s desires.
What’s in Store?
- Min 1, Max 3: Kicking off one week into season 14, this variation allows up to three players of any class but requires at least one of each. Think of the exciting compositions you can create—three tanks, two supports, and one DPS, or maybe two tanks, three supports, and one DPS—the possibilities are endless!
- Role Flexibility: Switch roles on the fly during a match as long as you maintain the “Min 1, Max 3” limit. Experiment with new team compositions and strategies that have never been seen before in OW2!
- Classic 2-2-2 Composition: Midseason, brace yourself for the return of the beloved 2-2-2 format with new hero reworks and less crowd control, keeping the gameplay fresh and challenging.
Not only is the six-vs-six making a comeback, but the five-vs-five format will also see its own tests. The Limit 2 test limits hero roles to two each, allowing for more strategic depth, while the Kingmaker test will offer a bonus to the lone player in their role.
