If you have been abusing Yone in the mid-lane to farm LP, your time is officially up. The balance team has dropped the hammer on several high-mobility assassins while pushing traditional control mages back into the competitive spotlight. But while the Yone nerfs are grabbing all the headlines, pro players are already theory-crafting a terrifying new mid-lane meta that nobody is talking about yet.

1. The Yone Massacre
🚨 NERF ALERT
Yone has received a devastating nerf to his W (Spirit Cleave) shielding and a massive cooldown increase to his E (Soul Unbound). He can no longer take free trades under the enemy tower without heavy risk.
For the last three patches, Yone has terrorized both the top and mid lanes. His ability to safely poke and dive without consequence made him a 100% pick/ban champion in high-Elo lobbies. Patch 14.21 fundamentally targets his early-game survivability, forcing Yone players to actually play safe until they complete their core item spikes.
2. The Emperor Returns: Azir Buffs
To counter the heavy assassin meta, Riot is injecting life back into Azir.
- Base Armor increased: 22 -> 25
- Arise! (W) Sand Soldier Damage Scaling: Increased by 15% at max rank.
- Emperor’s Divide (R): Cooldown reduced by 20 seconds across all ranks.
These buffs mean Azir can now comfortably survive the early laning phase against physical damage champions, allowing him to scale into the late-game hyper-carry monster that competitive teams love.
