Team Soul: The Ups and Downs of BMPS 2023 and the Path Ahead

In an interview with former Team Soul coach Amit Dubey, we dove into the nitty-gritty of the team’s performance during The BMPS 2023 Grand Finals, assessing their preparation, strategy, and execution as they secured the fifth position. Despite not putting forth consistent performances throughout the tournament, Team Soul remained one of the most dominant teams in the league stage. We explored how the squad navigated the challenges and what led to their change in coaching staff.

Preparation and Strategy: Coach Amit’s Perspective

According to Coach Amit, Team Soul entered the tournament with a clear goal – to play consistently and efficiently. “We were serious about our performance and had planned that the way we played on Day 3 was the way we were supposed to play from Day 1 onwards,” Amit stated in our interview.

Unfortunately, Day 1 saw the team struggle to carry out their plan due to choking under pressure, which found them sitting at 13th position at the end of the day. Disappointment spread not only among the players but also their fans. Emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement, Coach Amit shared, “At the start of Day 3, we were placed in the 12th position and decided that we have to grab as many points as possible. We thought that we should go all-out and forget about the first two days’ performance.”

The Turning Point: Day 3 Performance

Their renewed focus paid off, as on Day 3, Team Soul secured two chicken dinners and climbed the overall points table. Coach Amit reflected on this moment, saying, “We performed decently and were hoping for the 3rd spot, but we choked in one of the games and had to settle for the fifth position.”

Regrettably, despite their valiant efforts on the third day, Team Soul’s inability to maintain a consistent performance in the Grand Finals disappointed their brigade of fans.

Coming Changes: A New Chapter for Team Soul

Following the conclusion of the BMPS 2023, Team Soul announced Coach Amit’s departure on 19th December. As fans anticipate further changes to the squad for the 2024 season, former coach Amit remains optimistic about the team’s future. However, he remained tight-lipped as to what those changes might be.

In the end, Team Soul’s journey through the BMPS 2023 Grand Finals was a captivating rollercoaster ride, showcasing their undeniable potential as well as the challenges they faced throughout the tournament. By learning from this year’s experiences and implementing necessary changes, Team Soul has the opportunity to become a force to be reckoned with in 2024.

The esports world’s eyes are glued to Team Soul as they embark on a new chapter. Whatever lies ahead, one thing is certain – this is just the beginning for the team and their dedicated fans.
