Duel Format Mechanics & Evolution Ban System
The CRL 2026 World Finals utilizes the competitive “Duel” format, requiring players to build three completely independent 8-card decks without repeating any cards across sets:
- Double-Elimination Bracket: Losing a match sends a player to the Lower Elimination Bracket; two series losses result in tournament elimination.
- Best-of-3 Duels: Each match requires a player to win two distinct games. Before Game 1, each competitor is granted one global card ban that remains active throughout the series.
- Tower Troop Meta: Competitors can strategically assign different Tower Troops (such as Cannoneer, Dagger Duchess, or the standard Tower Princess) to specific decks, creating complex matchup dynamics against cycle versus beatdown strategies.
- Grand Finals (Bo5): The Grand Finals expands to a Best-of-5 Duel. If the Lower Bracket finalist defeats the Upper Bracket champion, an immediate Bracket Reset Bo5 is triggered to determine the World Champion.
