Character Abilities
Bloodhound is a fantastic addition to any squad, providing abundant information about enemy locations and even having the ability to scan Survey Beacons to learn about upcoming zone locations. Generally, it’s hard to go wrong with Bloodhound. The only thing to keep in mind is the weaknesses listed below and additionally that this legend’s tactical ability, Eye of the Allfather, has a shorter range than it may appear to have because the animation is misleading.
Tips for Beginners
Strengths:
- Bloodhound’s scan is a fantastic tool for gathering information about any close to medium-range areas.
- His ultimate and passive make them a great legend for hunting down opponents and not losing their trail.
Weaknesses:
- Without Bloodhound’s ultimate Beast of the Hunt, they’re rather immobile and can find it challenging to escape bad situations without a mobility legend on their team.
- Bloodhound’s tactical ability Eye of the Allfather can be rather underwhelming on large maps with open expanses such as Storm Point.
Tricks and Techniques
Skill Breakdown:
- *Class – Recon*\
Bloodhound is in the Recon Class. Recon Class Legends can scan the modified survey beacons, which reveals the location of all enemy players on the map for 30 seconds.
- Passive Ability – Tracker
- Tactical Ability (Q) – Eye of the Allfather
- Ultimate Ability (Z) – Beast of the Hunt
Tips and Tricks:
Tip #1:
Most Bloodhound players think they should use their scan on cooldown, but that’s not the case. There are 2 things to remember when it comes to Bloodhound’s scan. The scan reveals the Bloodhound player’s location, showing enemies exactly where you’re located.
This doesn’t matter if you’re spraying bullets and your position is already known, but if you’re creeping up on a team, you will not want to use this ability as it will give up your position immediately. The last part to consider about Bloodhound’s scan is that you will want this ability available for critical times. So it’s not always advisable to spam the ability on cooldown, but rather think tactically about when you want information on a given area.
Tip #2:
Pay close attention to the clues to which Bloodhound’s passive gives you access. These clues can paint a picture of what happened in a given area. For example, when you scan and gain access to clues you can see where enemies healed, took damage, were eliminated, and how long ago these actions took place. There are many different indicators that these clues give you, and paying attention to them can help you track down any team.
Now that you have the basics of Bloodhound’s abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and some tactical tips and tricks, you’re ready to start hunting in Apex Legends! Good luck, and may you become the next master of the arena.
