Xbox Game Pass Bids Farewell to 7 Games, Including Multiple Battlefield Titles

Microsoft has recently announced the removal of seven games from the Xbox Game Pass catalog, with three Battlefield games in the mix. As we approach the end of November, gamers will need to brace themselves for these withdrawals and explore other exciting alternatives on the platform.

 The Great Battlefield Departure

The three Battlefield games leaving the catalog are Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Set to be removed from the platform on November 30th, these games are currently part of the EA Play library – available through the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The reason behind their departure is linked to the darkening of servers for each game, putting an end to their online multiplayer functionality.

Reactions from the Gaming Community

Understandably, the gaming community has expressed sadness and nostalgia for the Battlefield games leaving the Xbox Game Pass catalog. Fans of these classics reminisce about their favorite gaming moments and the countless hours spent battling online with friends. Many remain hopeful that future game remasters or backwards compatibility initiatives may revive these beloved titles someday.

Saying Goodbye to Other Titles

The Battlefield games are not alone in their departure, as other games such as Anvil, Disc Room, Eastward, and Grid will also be removed from the Game Pass catalog on November 30th. Gamers are encouraged to take advantage of the 20% off discount available for Game Pass members to purchase any of these titles before they’re gone.

With nine titles removed earlier this month, November will see a total of 16 games leaving the Xbox Game Pass library.  The games leaving Game Pass are:

  • Anvil
  • Disc Room
  • Eastward
  • Grid
  • Battlefield 1 & 4
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2

  • Ori and the Blind Forest

What’s Next for Xbox Game Pass?

Despite the sad farewells, there’s still good news. Exciting games are being added to the Game Pass platform in the second half of November. Gamers can now dive into Coral Island, which released on the platform on November 14th. Persona 5 Tactica is set to launch on Game Pass on November 17th, while Dune: Spice Wars and Rollerdrome will both hit the platform on November 28th.

Future Expectations

As we bid adieu to these seven games, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be on the lookout for potential alternatives and substitutes. With game titles being added and removed frequently, there will always be something to look forward to. As the gaming community, we can only hope that the platform will continue to provide subscribers with a range of diverse and entertaining games in the future.

So, Xbox Game Pass members, enjoy the last few days with these titles and prepare for the exciting new additions coming your way!
