BLUF: The Americas Rostermania Power Shift

Meanwhile, Champions 2024 podium finishers Leviatán have fortified their Argentine core by retaining world-champion duelist aspas, securing the most explosive fragging foundation in the Western Hemisphere.

Sentinels’ Next Era: Filling the Immense Boots of TenZ and Sacy

When Tyson “TenZ” Ngo announced his departure from competitive professional play following Sentinels’ top-four finish at Valorant Champions Seoul 2024, the esports industry anticipated a prolonged identity crisis. TenZ had successfully transitioned from high-risk Jett duelist to world-class Omen controller, anchoring Sentinels’ suffocating defensive setups. Combined with Initiator Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi returning to Brazil, head coach Adam “kaplan” Kaplan was tasked with replacing 40% of their Masters Madrid championship roster.

The acquisition of Sean “bang” Bezerra from 100 Thieves and Marshall “N4RRATE” Massey from EMEA powerhouse Karmine Corp represents a masterstroke in recruitment telemetry. N4RRATE established himself as the most mechanically dominant flex player in Europe throughout 2024, averaging an astounding 1.22 VLR rating on Fade and Gekko while demonstrating primary duelist capability. With bang assuming dedicated Smokes duty and johnqt continuing his calm, collected mid-round calling, Sentinels retain elite firepower across all five positions without compromising utility structure.

Leviatán’s Championship Window: Aspas and the Argentine Powerhouse

For South American and Argentine esports enthusiasts, Leviatán represents the apex of Latin American competitive achievement. Backed by Argentine CEO Fernando Diez and partnered with global football icons, Leviatán proved in 2024 that South American rosters can conquer North American super-teams. By lifting the VCT Americas Stage 2 trophy and securing 3rd at Champions Seoul, the organization proved that retaining Erick “aspas” Santos is the most valuable asset in competitive Valorant.

Aspas recorded a tournament-high +142 kill differential across international LANs in 2024, maintaining a 248.6 Average Combat Score (ACS) on Jett and Iso. With Chilean IGL Francisco “kiNgg” Aravena continuing to deliver clutch anchor multi-kills and Roberto “Mazino” Rivas providing unselfish initiator setups, Leviatán enters the 2025 VCT Kickoff tournament as the definitive team to beat in Los Angeles.

VCT Americas 2025 Season Format & Key Dates

Riot Games has finalized the competitive circuit structure for the 2025 VCT calendar, introducing three international Masters events culminating in Champions Paris:

Masters Bangkok: February 20 – March 2, 2025 (2 Americas Seeds)
Stage 1 Regular Season: March 22 – May 4, 2025 (Top 3 qualify for Masters Toronto)
Masters Toronto: June 2025 (First Canadian International LAN)
Valorant Champions Paris: September 2025 (World Championship)

Tactical Meta Outlook: Patch 9.09 and the Impact of Sunset Map Changes

Beyond player signings, the competitive viability of these rosters will hinge upon mastering Riot’s latest map updates. With Sunset receiving structural overhauls to B Main and Courtyard, and Pearl re-entering the active map pool, double-controller compositions (Omen and Viper) are projected to dictate 65% of map picks. Teams with world-class Sentinel anchors like Leviatán’s tex and Sentinels’ johnqt will enjoy a massive advantage during late-round post-plant defusal situations.
