The international Counter-Strike 2 circuit witnessed an electrifying weekend of top-tier competition as the IEM Rio 2026 Grand Finals packed the Farmasi Arena in Brazil, while the final closed qualifier matches for the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major locked in their regional Swiss Stage seeds. Natus Vincere (NAVI) cemented their status as the undisputed number-one team in the world, hoisting yet another premier international trophy.
NAVI’s Masterclass in Rio: Conquering the Brazilian Roar
Led by Finnish tactical mastermind Aleksib, NAVI overcame a thunderous host-crowd deficit to defeat MOUZ 3-1 in a gripping best-of-five Grand Final:
- Inferno (13-11 NAVI): A tactical showcase on CT-side where iM and w0nderful shut down MOUZ’s A-apartments pushes with synchronized utility setups.
- Dust II (13-2 NAVI): Pure individual mechanical dominance. JL recorded an absurd 2.14 HLTV rating, converting three consecutive multi-kill entry duels on long doors.
- Mirage (6-13 MOUZ): MOUZ answered with xertioN and torzsi delivering heroic A-site retakes to avoid the sweep.
- Ancient (13-11 NAVI): In the championship decider, b1t proved why he is the cleanest rifler in CS2, clutching a 1v2 post-plant defusal on B-site with 4 HP remaining to seal championship gold.
