PS5 System Update Out Now, Doesn’t Do Much
Hold your horses, PlayStation fans! The latest PS5 system update has arrived, but it doesn’t bring too much with it. After several significant updates featuring new features and UI changes, this one is relatively minor and focuses simply on improving system performance. So, don’t expect any noticeable differences as you game on.
With the most recent update, the PS5 system will be raised to version 23.02-08.20.02. The single note in its patch notes states, “This system software update improves system performance.” It’s a mere 851 MB in size, meaning the download and installation process should be quick and painless.
Thankfully, you won’t have to install this minor update before diving into your online gaming on the PS5. However, with such a small space requirement, it’s recommended that you take the time to download it and benefit from any potential performance improvements.
Earlier this year, the PS5 saw substantial updates that brought Discord support, VRR 1440p support, and improved accessibility features. These changes also made it more convenient for players to connect with their friends.
At this point, Sony has not shared any information regarding future system updates or potential new features. However, a popular request from fans is the introduction of dynamic themes for the PS5, which were quite well-liked on the PS4 but have yet to make their debut on the latest generation console.
As always, stay tuned for more updates on PS5 system improvements and upcoming features. And remember, every tiny update contributes to creating a better overall gaming experience.
