NFL Week 7 delivered seismic shifts across both conferences as the Kansas City Chiefs preserved their unblemished record with a commanding Super Bowl rematch victory over the San Francisco 49ers, while Dan Campbell’s Detroit Lions edged the Minnesota Vikings in an electrifying NFC North heavyweight showdown.
Chiefs 28-18 49ers: Defensive Dominance Anchors 6-0 Start
At Levi’s Stadium, Steve Spagnuolo’s defense proved once again why Kansas City is the premier championship standard. Intercepting Brock Purdy three times and shutting down San Francisco’s ground game, the Chiefs overcame two Patrick Mahomes interceptions with relentless red-zone discipline.
Mahomes electrified late in the third quarter with a career-long 33-yard scramble, bowling through 49ers safety Mustapha at the goal line to ice the 28-18 triumph and push Kansas City to 6-0.
Lions 31-29 Vikings: NFC North Supremacy Decided with 15 Seconds Left
In Minneapolis, the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings traded haymakers in the game of the season. Jared Goff continued his historic passing efficiency, completing 22 of 25 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
After Minnesota took a 29-28 lead on an Ivan Pace Jr. scoop-and-score fumble return, Goff engineered an ice-cold two-minute drill, setting up Jake Bates to drill a game-winning 44-yard field goal with 15 seconds remaining on the clock.
