According to SteamDB, Black Myth: Wukong peaked at an astonishing 2,223,179 concurrent players.
To put that into perspective, it has completely crushed the all-time peaks of massive multiplayer giants like Counter-Strike 2 (1.8 million) and Lost Ark (1.3 million).
It now holds the title of the #1 Most Played Single-Player Game in Steam history, dethroning Cyberpunk 2077 (1 million). The only game sitting above it on the all-time charts is PUBG: Battlegrounds, which famously hit 3.2 million players during the battle royale boom of 2018.
🎮 PlayStation 5 Success & Xbox Delays
While Steam numbers are public, industry analysts estimate that the PlayStation 5 sales are equally staggering, especially in the Asian market where physical editions sold out in minutes.
However, it is a dark day for Xbox owners. Developer Game Science recently announced that the Xbox Series X/S version of the game has been delayed indefinitely. Rumors suggest that the developers are struggling to optimize the game’s intensive Unreal Engine 5 graphics to run smoothly on the weaker Xbox Series S console.
