These editorial guidelines are meant to serve as eSportPort values and standards. They apply to all content published on our website.
What is esports?
The term “esports” itself has multiple definitions that keep evolving as new games, platforms, tournament formats and other stakeholders emerge in the industry. In the absence of a globally accepted definition, our coverage is guided by the following definition of esports (subject to change). We classify a game as an esports title when it meets ALL of the following broad criteria (subject to change):

Must be multiplayer
Must have organized, spectator-friendly competitions
Must be winnable primarily on the basis of skill, not chance
Victory must depend on:
Intellectual skill (eg. Strategy, in-game calls, pre-game drafts etc.)
Physical skill (eg. High APM, quick reflexes, significant hand-eye coordination etc.)
Verification Standards (fact checking)
